Introduction to the History of the NAA

The NAA has a unique rationale and history.  Since the first NAA competition in 1865 it has underpinned the development of the practice and science of artillery within the Royal Artillery Volunteers and Reserves as well as developing and supporting the esprit de corps of all officers and soldiers.

The Trustees wish to make the rich history of the NAA more accessible to all.

As an oversight, please see the attached ‘NAA Timeline 1863 to 2024’ document.

To do this, the subsections in this category have been structured to illustrate the changing role and responsibilities of the NAA in delivering its rationale.
